Tallest Waterslide in America Will Be Built in World Famous Wisconsin Dells
The 'Waterpark Capital of the World' will soon be home to the tallest waterslide in America. Mt. Olympus Waterpark is building another big thrill in Wisconsin Dells.
As long as our society keeps wanting bigger amusement park thrills, there will be thrill ride designers up for the challenge of stealing your breath (and possibly your lunch).
I recently shared some news from Six Flags Great America in Illinois about their plans for 2024. Six Flags will debut the tallest pendulum thrill ride in the Midwest, next spring. You sit on a spinning disc facing outward as the pendulum you're connected to swings up to 172 feet in the air at speeds around 75 miles per hour.

For your trip up north in 2024 to Wisconsin Dells, the Water Park Capital of the World, it's going to get a little more difficult to choose which waterparks to visit.
In 2021, Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park, located at 655 N Frontage Road in the Dells spent $23 million on an expansion that included a first-of-its-kind rotating water slide.

Medusa's Slidewheel. Only two others exist in the world, China and Poland. Mt. Olympus appears to be far from done growing in some pretty jaw-dropping ways.

In 2024, the park will debut the tallest waterslide in America, The Rise of Icarus
[...] towering at 145 feet, when it makes its debut next year. "As the Greek myth goes, Icarus soared too close to the sun on wings fastened to his body with wax, with the heat of the sun melting the wax and Icarus falling to the sea," the 156-acre Greece-themed resort said in a Facebook post. "Here at Mt. Olympus, you'll experience a much happier ending at the bottom of the slides!"
According to the park's website, Mt. Olympus will also be adding a major new outdoor children’s play area with 10 new slides and water play features.
Travel and Leisure shared some details on the current tallest waterslide in the US located in New Jersey, and the world's tallest slide in Brazil.
