Rochester Sex Offender Accused of Having Sexual Relationship With Teen Enters Plea Deal
Law enforcement discovered evidence of Lovelady’s relationship with the Rochester victim when they seized his phone during the investigation into the Brown County case.
The complaint says Lovelady’s phone had sexually explicit images of the Rochester victim. She told authorities that she and Lovelady had sex multiple times beginning in November of 2021, when she was 15, the complaint says.
If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, resources are available for help. Visit the RAINN website (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network) or dial 800-656-HOPE (800-656-4673).
Lovelady was also accused of recording a sexual encounter between himself and the victim in May of 2023. The complaint also alleged Lovelady knew the victim was 15 when they began their relationship.
Plea Agreement Includes Prison Sentence
He was charged in January of last year in Olmsted County with third-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of soliciting a child to engage in sexual conduct and possession of pornographic work.
On Friday, Lovelady entered a plea deal calling for him to admit to one of the solicitation counts and the pornography possession count. All of the other charges were dismissed.
