Teenage Boy Killed While Kayaking in Western MN

(Alexandria, MN) MNN -- A 15-year-old Montevideo boy is dead after a kayaking accident near Alexandria.

Douglas County Sheriff's deputies were called to the Wild Ridge Campground Sunday afternoon by a concerned mother after her son failed to return.

Rescue crews and volunteers found Brennon Johnson and his kayak submerged in Lobster Lake a short time later. Johnson, who was wearing a life jacket, was declared dead at the scene.

Investigators believe he was unable to get out of the kayak after it capsized.
