In a post to the Matson Strong social media page, the date has been set for the community-wide benefit for Waseca police officer Arik Matson. May 22nd will be a VERY busy day out at the Waseca County Fairgrounds, as there will be plenty of activities and ways to raise funds to benefit the Matson family.

The gates to the fairgrounds will open up Saturday, May 22nd at 10am, and at 10:30 the opening ceremony will take place, which will include the National Anthem being sung by Miss Minnesota.

From 11-4pm, there will be a silent auction taking place across the fairgrounds, and a live auction will begin at 1pm. 100% of the funds raised will go towards the Matson family.

On top of the auctions, both live and silent, there will be live music happening out at the fairgrounds as well beginning at 1 and running through 11pm.

Also happening in tandem with the fairgrounds benefit for the Matson family will be a roll-in from 10a to 5p also going on at the fairgrounds, with a free-will offering being accepted with all proceeds going towards the Matson family.

The roll-in will be for pretty much whatever you feel like bringing, cars, UTV's, motorcycles, tractors, basically if you can ride it, and it has an engine in it, they want it out at the Waseca Fairgrounds.

This is just another instance of a community coming together to surround and support one of their own. It's great to see so many people coming together and leaning in and lending a hand to Arik and his family.
