Halloween is right around the corner. Are you prepared to bring home a pillowcase full of candy (maybe more)? Fortunately, there is an amazing candy buyback program that benefits our troops. I know, I know, how are you supposed to get your kids to part ways with all that candy? Even better news, they will make a dollar per pound of candy, plus get their name entered into a drawing to win prizes.

Dental offices across the country are participating in the Halloween Candy Buyback including a few in our area. According to their Facebook page, the unopened candy will be given to Soldier's Angels, a nonprofit that provides aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, their families, and the growing veteran population.

Annually, during the fall season, Soldiers’ Angels collects leftover Halloween candy and distributes it to deployed service members as well as veterans at VA Hospitals across the country. The program, called “Treats for the Troops,” is a small reminder of home for our deployed and a sweet treat for our veterans.

Which dental offices in or around Rochester are included this year? According to the Halloween Candy Buyback website: Family Dentist Tree in Rochester and Root River Dental, PA in Stewartville. Check with your dental office to find when you should drop off your candy.
