St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota Commission on Judicial Selection has named three finalists for a vacant judgeship that will be chambered at the Olmsted County Courthouse. It was earlier announced that the position held by Winona County Judge Jeffrey Thompson would be shifted to Rochester following his retirement.

The finalists are Jacob Allen, James Haase, and Tammy Shefelbine. Allen is the Managing Attorney for the 3rd Judicial District Public Defender’s Office in Rochester, Haase is a Senior Assistant Olmsted County Attorney, and Shefelbine is a private attorney with the Dunlap and Seeger Law Firm who specializes in family law.

Governor Mark Dayton will interview the finalists over the next few weeks before announcing the judicial appointment.
