Traffic Crash Leads to Electrocution Death

St. Louis County, MN (Learfield Wire Service) -- The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly accident in which a man was electrocuted after a crash near Ely.

The accident happened early Thursday morning when a pickup truck slammed into an electrical pole on Highway 21 and Moss Ridge Road. Authorities say a man got out of the vehicle and came in contact with a live wire and was shocked to death.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Jacob Forsman of Ely.

Another person in the pickup, Carter Manning, was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
