Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Southbound traffic on Highway 52 just southeast of Rochester is scheduled to be restricted to one lane beginning on Monday.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the lane closure is needed to allow crews to repair the bridge deck on Highway 52 where it passes over 36th Street Southeast. Their work will start on the left lane and will later switch to the right lane before the entire project is completed near the end of the month.

MnDOT says motorists could encounter lane shifts, uneven road surfaces, construction equipment, and other unexpected obstacles while the work is being completed. Officials also say to expect delays, especially during peak travel times.

Lanesboro, MN (KROC-AM News) - A significant detour is set to begin Monday in Fillmore County.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says traffic will be detoured off of Highway 25 north of Lanesboro for the next 10 weeks for a repaving project and the replacement of 8 culverts. The $1.8 million project runs for nearly 9 miles from Lanesboro to Highway 30.

The detour for traffic heading south will route traffic east on Highway 30 before taking Fillmore County Road 25 to Peterson and then Highway 16 to Lanesboro.

Wow! Check out how Rochester has changed throughout the years in these Google photos.

As we are soaring down Hwy 52, it is hard to imagine what life was like in our town before the Target store was built where it is today. Or the house that you live in now, at one point in town, that wasn't there. In fact, Rochester has grown so fast throughout the years, most of our houses weren't even around 50 years ago! Don't believe me? Look through these photos to get a glimpse of what Rochester was like years ago.
