Washington, D.C. (KROC-AM News) - One of Minnesota’s best-known citizens was honored Tuesday in Washington D.C.

Vice President Joe Biden was among those who spoke at the event, which was titled “Walter Mondale: Living Legacy.” It was held at George Washington University, but was hosted by the University of Minnesota Humphrey School of Public Affairs to honor the life and legacy of the 87-year-old former Vice President, U.S. Senator and U.S. Ambassador.

Mondale, who was the Democratic Party’s Presidential candidate in 1984, served as Vice President under President Jimmy Carter from 1977 until 1981.
