Truck Crash Closed 2 Highways in Winona County For Hours
Dakota, MN (KROC-AM News) - A truck driver escaped with only cuts and bruises after a spectacular crash that shut down sections of I-90 and Highway 61 for about 4 hours this morning.
The State Patrol says the crash involving a double-trailer rig occurred just after 5 AM at the I-90 and Highway 61 interchange in Dakota, where the driver failed to navigate the curve at the split of the two highways and the truck smashed into a guardrail and concrete bridge railing. The truck and one of the trailers flipped over and came to rest blocking both westbound lanes of I-90 while the second trailer went over the bridge railing and fell onto the right shoulder and ditch along Highway 61.
The name of the driver, who was treated at the scene, has not been released.
