Columbia Heights, MN (KROC AM News) -  Authorities in a Twin Cities suburb are investigating the shooting death of a teenager.

Officers were called to a residence in Columbia Heights just before midnight Thursday to check a report “of an individual being shot.”

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office says officers began lifesaving measures but the victim died at the scene. She has been identified as 15-year-old Derryanna Deashia Davis of Columbia Heights. It’s not known if she lived at the residence where the shooting occurred.

The sheriff’s office says “This is still an active investigation and there is limited information available.” Two juveniles who were at the scene were questioned by law enforcement and released.

“This is a horrific loss of life. We will continue the investigation until the truth is found and justice is served. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends during this difficult time.” said Sheriff James Stuart.
