Twins Put Up 11 Runs and Still Lose to Chicago
MINNEAPOLIS (KROC AM) — The Minnesota Twins had the long ball going again on Sunday, but it still wasn't enough to hold off the Chicago White Sox.
Chicago was led by Jose Abreu's two three-run homers, driving in a career-best seven runs and Tim Anderson's two-run double in the 12th inning to beat the Minnesota Twins 13-11 on Sunday
The Twins and Sox combined for 18 homers in the series. Byron Buxton hit a grand slam to tie the game at 4 in the third. Brian Dozier, Miguel Sano and John Ryan Murphy went deep as well, but the pitching couldn't keep Chicago down.
The Twins will open a three game series at home with Kansas City today with Jose Berrios expected to start on the mound after being recalled from Rochester.
It's a 1:10 start time and you can hear it all starting with the pre-game at 12:30 on Newstalk 1340 KROC AM.
