Two Minnesota Teens Killed in Alcohol-Related Crash
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol report on a deadly crash on a Twin Cities freeway early today suggests alcohol was a contributing factor.
Alcohol was found in the system of a 26-year-old Brooklyn Center man who was driving in the wrong direction in the eastbound lanes of I-94 in North Minneapolis when his car smashed head-on into another vehicle around 1:30 a.m. Both occupants of the second vehicle, 18-year-old Diana Martinez and of 19-year-old Christopher Bunyan, were killed in the collision. The State Patrol report indicates both of the victims were from Minneapolis.
The wrong way driver, identified as Quoc Thanh Tran, was transported to NorthMemorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A Hayfield woman was brought to St. Mary’s Hospital this morning following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 14 just west of Rochester. The State Patrol says 27-year-old Haley Ann Hassebrock and 34-year-old Brittany Kristina Rischette were driving in the eastbound lanes of the highway when their vehicles made contact and went out of control.
Rischette was not injured in the crash, which was reported at 8:20 a.m.
