Zumbrota, MN (KROC-AM News)- A crash that was the result of a U-turn sent a southeast Minnesota man to the hospital Wednesday evening.

The State Patrol responded to the crash at the intersection of Hwy. 58 and 443rd St., which is less than a mile north of Zumbrota. The two-vehicle crash was reported shortly before 7 p.m.

The state crash report indicates a northbound SUV was making a U-turn when it collided with a northbound pick-up. The pick-up driver, identified as 26-year-old Tyler Brennan Evenson of Mantorville, suffered what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Evenson then went to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for further care. The state report says the SUV was driven by 51-year-old Lamar Thompson of Rochester. He was not hurt. 

Both drivers were buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the crash, the report says. The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the crash.
