
(CORRECTION) 1 Injury Reported in 5 Vehicle Crash Near Chatfield
CORRECTION! A previous version indicated the driver injured in the crash was the only one involved not using a seatbelt. That was incorrect. The State Patrol has updated its news release on the incident to indicate all of the drivers were seat-belted.
Chatfield, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol now says only one person required transport to a hospital following a five vehicle pileup Friday afternoon that shutdown traffic on Highway 52 near Chatfield.
The crash was reported around 1 PM at the intersection with a rural road about 2 miles northwest of Chatfield. The State Patrol says three vehicles were traveling southbound and two vehicles were headed north on Highway 52 when it collided near the junction with 130th Avenue Southeast.

The driver of a northbound pickup, 58-year-old Timothy Majerus of Preston was transported by ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
The four other motorists were identified as 21-year-old Reid Johnson of Chatfield, 19-year-old Cole Johnson of Chatfield, 19-year-old Zachary Starkson of Sargeant, and 41-year-old Brandon Albertson of Fort Atkinson, Iowa. The State Patrol says they were not injured.
The crash report indicates alcohol was not involved and the roadway was dry at the time.
