Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A southeast Minnesota man is facing felony charges for a burglary that resulted in a vehicle theft.

That’s according to a criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court Friday morning. 

The court document says the alleged burglary and theft happened Wednesday afternoon. The victim and suspect are not known to each other.

Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the victims' rural home southeast of Rochester and learned their vehicle had been stolen.

The victim stated the vehicle was parked in the home’s front driveway and that the keys were stored inside of the home prior to the vehicle theft, according to the complaint. 

Deputies saw a vehicle in the victim’s driveway that was registered to 31-year-old Dusty Rae Odell of Zumbrota, the charges say. The victim told law enforcement he did not know Odell and did not give him permission to take the vehicle. 

Odell Spotted by Fillmore County Sheriff's Office

Deputies learned Odell had been spotted by the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office driving a vehicle that was not registered to him, according to the court document.

Odell is charged with second-degree burglary and motor vehicle theft.

He was released without bail following his first appearance in Olmsted County Court Friday morning and is due back in court next month.
