EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Vikings safety Harrison Smith has been picked for the Pro Bowl, replacing Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas, who withdrew because of an injury.

The Vikings announced Monday that Smith will make his first career appearance in the NFL's all-star game, held Sunday in Hawaii. Smith will be the first Vikings defensive back selected for the Pro Bowl since cornerback Antoine Winfield after the 2010 season.

Since entering the league in 2012, Smith is one of two players with at least 12 interceptions and five sacks. Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones is the other.

Running back Adrian Peterson and defensive end Everson Griffen are the other Vikings on the Pro Bowl roster.
