Voters Approve Rochester School District Tax Increase – Barely
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - It was a very close call for the Rochester School District but by the time the votes in its Tuesday operating levy referendum were totaled, its request had been granted - by 239 votes.
Just over 20,000 voters took part in the referendum.
The district was seeking voter approval of an increase in its operating levy of nearly $10 million. The district has said this would add about $15 a month to the property tax bills on a home valued at $200,000.
