Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office has captured a wanted Rochester man after he allegedly fled law enforcement in a stolen vehicle.

Last week he was identified by law enforcement as the man suspected of threatening a woman with a gun then attempting to run her over in a stolen pick-up in Marion Township. 

Court records indicate he has a criminal record that dates back to 2018 and includes felony convictions for theft and receiving stolen property.

He also had seven active arrest warrants, according to Olmsted County warrant records. 

Rochester Man Wanted for Gun Threat in Stolen Pick-up Captured After Fleeing Deputies at WalMart

Sheriff’s Captain Tim Parkin said law enforcement received information that 43-year-old Daniel Hill was in a stolen pick-up at the south Walmart parking lot in Rochester around 12:30 Saturday afternoon.

Hill fled in the truck as deputies made contact with him, Parkin said. Hill drove off the road and onto bike paths during the fleeing incident before the truck became stuck in the 1600 block of 50th Ave Southeast, according to the sheriff’s office’s report. 

Deputies moved in and arrested Hill at that location. Hill was brought to St. Mary’s Hospital as a precaution after making statements about ingesting drugs.

He was medically cleared then booked into the Olmsted County Jail, Parkin said. 

Hill could face charges of felony fleeing in a motor vehicle, felony receiving stolen property, and gross misdemeanor damage to property, according to the sheriff’s office.
