Waterlogged Region Could See Heavy Rains This Week
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The National Weather Service has issued a worrisome forecast for areas of southeastern Minnesota, northeastern Iowa and southwestern Wisconsin that have been socked recently by torrential rains and damaging flooding.
A chance of showers and storms is part of the forecast each day through Wednesday and forecasters say it appears conditions Tuesday evening through Wednesday will be favorable for widespread storms producing heavy rains. The National Weather Service says several inches of rain could fall in areas where the ground is already saturated, which could result in flash flooding as water levels in rivers and streams rise quickly due to the run-off from the predicted storms.
Anyone living near rivers and streams, and especially people staying in campgrounds located in low-lying areas are being advised to keep close tabs on the weather forecasts and conditions over the next several days.
