Undated (KROC AM News) – Four more Memorial Day tornadoes have been confirmed in southeast Minnesota, three in Fillmore County.
The National Weather Service has confirmed those three were EF-0 twisters that touched down around 1:30 PM.
One was confirmed in the Beaver Creek area where it damaged a farm shed. The second twister damaged some trees at a cemetery near Etna. A third tornado was confirmed about 15 miles east of Spring Valley and it damaged a cattle barn.
The NWS earlier confirmed a tornado about 10 miles southwest of Preston and three in NE Iowa.
The other tornado was confirmed in Freeborn County.
Freeborn County Sheriff Kurt Freitag says the twister was spotted on the ground just after noon Monday near the town of Glenville. Freitag says a survey team from the National Weather Service examined damage to trees and “ concluded an EF-0 tornado touched down near the Glenville Beach, which is about a mile north of Glenville.”
The survey team reports the small twister lasted for only one minute, with a path of less than a mile and a width of 50 yards. Its top wind speed was estimated at 85 mph. No structural damage was observed or reported.
