It can be very easy to go down a rabbit hole, to only see the negative things going on in your life, the world, etc. But that's when we need to take a lesson from an 89-year-old Rochester, MN woman named Phyllis. She can be seen outside of her senior living community every day blowing bubbles! But why?

Phyllis lives at The Waters on Maywood with her husband Carl. Carl loves his wife's laugh and so do the fellow residents at The Waters on Mayowood. One resident, Karen, told KARE 11 that "'[h]er laugh is well known.'" Phyllis is also known for having a great attitude in general. As Karen puts it, "'[s]he's just a great person to be with and inspires you for the day.'”

It's thanks to an aunt of Phyllis. Phyllis said that "'if you were with her, you were laughing ... She was nothing but fun.'" For her funeral, her aunt had requested that people sing the song 'I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles'. And that's where the inspiration came from.

Phyllis said that she never does anything that isn't fun, "'My husband does it.'" And Carl doesn't mind.

One of those things that's fun for her is blowing bubbles, which she's done almost every day since her aunt died close to 20 years ago. So if you drive by the area, keep your eyes peeled, you might see Phyllis out there having the time of her life. "'I get out here and I’m a kid!'” Let's take a page from Phyllis' book and find joy in even the smallest things, like blowing bubbles.
