After a stretch of unseasonably warm temperatures, winter returned to Southeast Minnesota this week, resulting in slick roads and hundreds of crashes statewide.

CRITICAL TRAVEL ADVISORY: The Minnesota Department of Transportation is currently reporting snow covered roads in southeast Minnesota and MnDOT continues to advise NO TRAVEL in the extreme southeast corner of the state due to dangerous conditions. Because of these hazardous conditions, several area schools have adjusted their schedules for Friday, February 20.

The MnDOT map below, posted at 6:00am, shows how bad area roads are. The green indicates 'normal' driving conditions - drivers should still be cautious. The blue is snow/ice covered roads and the purple area is where travel isn't advised at this time.
