Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man was arrested early Saturday after a short police chase that left a woman with “a serious case of road rash. “

A spokesman says a patrol officer spotted 28-year-old Brett Kurth near Barlow Plaza around 12:30 AM. The officer made a traffic stop because Kurth was wanted on a Department of Corrections warrant.

A woman in the vehicle got out but Kurth suddenly took off and she was caught in the door. The spokesman says she was dragged about 400-500 feet before she fell to the ground. Kurth stopped a short distance away and took off on foot but was caught.

The woman was taken to St. Marys Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
