Woman Injured in Rochester Fire Rushed to St. Marys Hospital
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester firefighters rescued a woman from a burning home Saturday night.
The Rochester Fire Department says the woman was found in a first-floor bedroom after fire crews responded to a report of a residential structure fire at 525 Third Avenue Northwest shortly after 9 PM. When they arrived at the scene, the firefighters found flames and smoke coming from the front of the story-and-a-half house.
The woman was unresponsive when she was located by firefighters and was quickly removed from the home. The firefighters then began performing life-saving measures with Mayo Clinic ambulance paramedics before the woman was transported to St. Marys Hospital for further treatment. Information about her medical condition is not available.
The fire crews also found two large dogs inside the home. The fire department reported that one of the dogs was resuscitated, but the other did not survive.
The incident report on the fire indicates there is significant smoke, water, and fire damage throughout the house. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
