Woman Killed by Light Rail Train in St Paul
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A light rail train has struck and killed a woman in St. Paul.
The woman died after she was struck by a Green Line train Friday afternoon as she crossed University Avenue.
Metro Transit spokesman Howie Padilla says the woman was in a pedestrian crosswalk when an eastbound train passed through. She continued to walk and was struck by a westbound train around 3 p.m.
Padilla says authorities don't know why she crossed. He says it appears all warning bells and lights were operational.
The name of the woman was not released. The St. Paul Pioneer Press says police will review video from the trains.
