St Paul (KROC AM News) - One person was killed and two others injured in a Twin Cities crash involving a reported stolen vehicle.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash occurred around 8:00 pm on a Highway 61 exit ramp in St Paul.

The State Patrol report says the vehicle was driven by 31-year-old Michael Bruce of Columbia Heights. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, as was a passenger identified as 35-year-old Cecily Cortes of Minneapolis.

The passenger who was fatally injured was identified as 54-year-old Brenda Schaaf of Robbinsdale. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

State Patrol Sgt. Troy Christianson says a trooper “attempted to stop the vehicle but it did not stop and increased speed.“
He says "The pursuit started at I-94 and Pascal, it ended at the crash location at the top of the Southbound Hwy 61 exit ramp to Bailey Rd."

Christianson says “This is still an active and ongoing case.”
