The playground is being built to serve the dozens of children and young adults with disabilities that receive services through Hiawatha Homes. The $117,000 dollar project is expected to be completed this summer.

About half of the money was raised through a targeted fundraising campaign and the other half was supplied by gifts from individuals who contributed to the "Greatest Needs Fund" established by the Hiawatha Homes Foundation.
