
Olmsted County Deputies Arrest Rochester Man for Zumbro Ridge Estates Shooting
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man is in custody following a shooting inside of a manufactured home community.

The criminal complaint, filed in Olmsted County Court on Monday, says the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of gunfire around 11:00 Friday night.
Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Captain Tim Parkin says the Rochester Police Department and State Patrol responded to the scene, formed a perimeter and assisted with getting the occupants out of the suspect’s home.

Rochester Man Charged for Friday Night Shooting at Zumbro Ridge Estates
Friday night’s shooting occurred at the Zumbro Ridge Estates, located in the 700 block of 55th St. Northeast. The alleged gunman, identified as 39-year-old Shawn Owen Dieser, is accused of firing multiple rounds from a shotgun at his home.
The court document says a woman and two boys were in the home at the time of the gunfire. Responding law enforcement found Dieser asleep on a couch in the home and detained him.
Deputies found a loaded shotgun in a bedroom across the hall from where the boys were discovered.
The complaint says authorities also found three spent shotgun shells, 10 live shotgun rounds scattered in the home and three boxes of ammunition while searching the residence.
Dieser, who the complaint indicates was intoxicated at the time of the shooting, told deputies his neighbor had threatened him and that he fired a warning shot in response.
No injuries were reported. The Rochester man is facing a dangerous weapons charge- -intentional discharge of firearm that endangers safety, and a gross misdemeanor count of negligent firearm storage.
Dieser made his first court appearance on Monday. He was released without bail and is due back in court next month.
