11 Area Teams Ranked in Minnesota High School Football Rankings

11 teams in southeast Minnesota are ranked in the Top 10 in their respective classes including two teams in the region that are ranked #1.

The #1's this week include Maple Grove in Class 6A, Mankato West in Class 5A, Stewartville in Class 4A, Esko in Class 3A, Chatfield in Class 2A, BOLD in Class A, and Wheaton/Herman-Norcross in 9-Man.

9-Man Minnesota State High School Football Rankings

Lanesboro moved up one spot from #3 to #2 and Spring Grove jumped a spot from #6 to #5 this week. The Burros and Lions are both 5-0 on the season and could be playing for the district championship, as well as the #1 seed in the Section 1 9-Man playoffs when they meet in Week 8 in Spring Grove.

Mabel-Canton received votes this week as well.

Fillmore Central is the lone Section 1 team to crack the Top 10 this week, jumping up one spot from last week (#6 to #5). Rushford-Peterson received votes this week. The Falcons are 5-0 and beat the Trojans in Week 2 action.

Chatfield remained at #1 and Caledonia at #3 this week in the Class AA state rankings. The Gophers and Warriors will meet up in Chatfield this week for a showdown between undefeated teams on Homecoming for the Gophers. You can catch the action on 103.1 KFIL coming up Friday night.

Class AAA Minnesota State Football Rankings

Three teams from Section 1 cracked the Top 10 this week. Cannon Falls was #1 a week ago but fell to #6 after losing to Rochester Lourdes. The Eagles moved to 4-1 with the win over the Bombers and jumped up to #5 this week. Plainview-Elgin-Millville tied Waseca at #7.

In another big matchup this week, #7 Plainview-Elgin-Millville will host #5 Rochester Lourdes.

After another big win in Week 5, Stewartville moved up to #1 in the state rankings for Class 4A this week. The Tigers have outscored opponents on average 56.4 to 4.6. Its been an impressive start for Stewartville, who travels to Kasson to take on Kasson-Mantorville this week. Winona received votes this week.

Hutchinson, Simley, Mound Westonka, and Becker rounded out the Top 5.

Mankato West battled Rochester Mayo in a thrilling matchup last week, where the Scarlets came out on top. It was the first loss of the season for Rochester Mayo who fell from #7 to #9 this week. Mankato West remained at the #1 spot.
