16-Year-Old Arrested for Threatening Rochester Clerk With Gun
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Rochester Police Department says a 16-year-old boy is in custody in connection to an armed threats call officers responded to at a Rochester gas station earlier this week.
Police Captain Casey Moilanen said the clerk was able to give officers a description of the suspect. The boy is accused of threatening the clerk then pointing a gun at her after she reported catching him attempting to steal batteries from the Holiday gas station in the 900 block of 37th St. Northwest Tuesday night.
Moilanen said officers executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 900 block of 40th St. Northwest shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday. Officers found an individual who matched a description of the suspect and was wearing clothes that matched the clothing the suspect was seen wearing during the incident.
Moilanen said officers also found a handgun at the apartment that was reported stolen out of Chisago County. The teen was arrested and brought to a juvenile detention facility following the search.
He’s been charged as a juvenile with second-degree assault, threats of violence and ineligible possession of a firearm.
