Eagan, MN (KROC-AM News) - Three people from Albert Lea were injured in a devastating alcohol-involved crash caused by a wrong-way driver in the Twin Cities early today.

The State Patrol says 60-year-old Nancy Heideman was driving an SUV pulling a boat on a trailer south on I-35 in the Eagan just after midnight when a car traveling north in the southbound lanes smashed into the SUV head-on. Investigators say the driver of the car had just turned off Cliff Road and entered the freeway from the southbound exit ramp.

The crash report indicates Heideman and her two passengers, 57-year-old Randy Heideman and 25-year-old Desirae Heideman, were transported by ambulance to Regions Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The wrong-way driver was identified as 28-year-old Nraughli Vang of South St. Paul. He was also taken to the St. Paul Hospital. His injuries were described as life-threatening. The State Patrol report also notes suspected alcohol use by Vang.
