4 Kids, 3 Adults Hospitalized Following Crash in Small Southeast Minnesota Town
Caledonia, MN (KROC-AM News)- A crash in a small southeastern Minnesota town sent seven people to the hospital late Saturday morning.
Four vehicles were involved in the Houston County crash. Four of the seven people hurt are children.
The State Patrol responded to the crash at the intersection of Hwy. 44 and West Washington St. in Caledonia. It occurred shortly before noon.
The state crash report indicates two Chevy SUVs, a Toyota SUV and a car collided. All of the vehicles were traveling north.
The driver of one of the Chevy SUVs, identified as 79-year-old Roger Oren Lanswerk from Mabel, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was the lone occupant in that vehicle.
All six occupants of the other Chevy SUV, who are all from Ossian, IA, were also taken to a hospital. They were identified as:
- 39-year-old Joshua Jerome Uhlenhake (driver)
- 38-year-old Samantha Uhlenhake
- 2-year-old Jordyn Jo Uhlenhake
- 5-year-old Morgan Judith Uhlenhake
- 7-year-old Brayden Joshua Uhlenhake
- 8-year-old Nolan Joseph Uhlenhake
The two adults and four children all suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Toyota SUV, identified as 42-year-old Molly Jane Beatty from Decorah, IA, and the car driver, identified as 69-year-old Jon Lee Houge from Onalaska, WI, escaped the four-vehicle crash without injuries.
All nine people were buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the crash, the report says.
The Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Spring Grove EMS, Caledonia EMS and the Caledonia Fire Department also responded to the crash.
