Gophers Face Georgia in NIT Consolation Game

Minnesota returns to Madison Square Garden on Friday for the NIT Season Tip-Off consolation game, facing the University of Georgia.  Tipoff is 3:30.  Coverage on KROC AM begins at 3:00.

The Gophers are in the middle of a three-game road trip at the Garden, after going 3-0 last week at home. The three home games were won by an average margin of 30.7 points.  They lost to St John's 70-61 in Wednesday's NIT semi-final. Georgia fell to Gonzaga, 88-76, in the other semifinal game.

Minnesota’s last trip to New York ended with them winning the NIT title in April, knocking off Florida State and SMU to finish with the championship and a school-record 25 wins.
