Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – The Rochester City Council Monday night approved a 5-year operating agreement with a St. Paul firm to oversee the Chateau Theatre until the city adopts a long-range plan for the historic building.

The council earlier this year selected Exhibits Development Group, which plans to organize public events, performances, and exhibits 360 days a year.

EDG says its goal is to generate over 120,000 visits per year from the attractions it has planned for the Chateau. Its agreement calls for the city to 10-percent of the profits from the operation, which has been estimated at around $50,000 annually.
