ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A standoff over office space in Minnesota's Capitol has been resolved so a renovation project won't be knocked off track.

A deal announced Thursday settled questions over how much room each of the major tenants will get in the remodeled building.

Representatives for the House, Senate, governor, attorney general and judiciary struck the agreement as a deadline for action arrived. Failure to get a deal would have slowed work on the $273 million renovation and possibly delayed the 2017 expected completion.

A point of contention was the number of lawmakers who would have more than one office.

The deal opens up more space for public restrooms, events and dining.
