Alcohol Use Suspected in Injury Crash at Rural Rochester Interchange
The State Patrol responded to the crash shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday. Two vehicles were involved in the collision.
The state crash report indicates an SUV was traveling north through the interchange's intersection with 75th St. Northwest when it was struck by an eastbound pick-up.
50-year-old Albert Lucky Williams of Fridley, MN was identified as the SUV driver. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for further care.
The pick-up driver, identified as 41-year-old Timothy Walter Rahman of Plainview, was not hurt. Williams is suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, the report says.
Both drivers were buckled up and were the only occupants in their vehicles. The Rochester Fire Department, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the two-vehicle crash.
