Time Travel back to downtown Rochester in 2005!  It doesn't seem that long ago, but it is getting closer and closer to "the good old days"

While recently searching for a photo stored in my computer hard drive, which is packed with thousands of images of my family and other fun stuff, I happened upon a folder of photos I took in 2005.

The images depict different locations in downtown Rochester that I had chosen for a presentation that I created to be presented to my daughter's middle school history class in the spring of 2005. The presentation offered the kids a glimpse into old Rochester and compared photos taken in the city's downtown in the 1920s, 30s, and 40s to the sites I photographed with my fairly primitive digital camera in 2005.

When I looked at those 2005 photos, I was fascinated to see how much downtown Rochester has changed in less than two decades. So, I decided to reverse the presentation and compare the 2005 cityscape to images captured by Google Street View in July 2023.
