Rochester, MN (KROC News) Another piece of downtown Rochester has vanished.

The former Vine Funeral Home building was knocked down Thursday.

It was located at the site of the Discovery Square project being developed by Mortenson Construction along 4th St SW between 2nd and 3rd avenues. The building was at the southwest corner of the block and had been used by project employees but its days were numbered.

The brick and wood building opened in the early 1960s. It was purchased by Mayo Clinic after the funeral business relocated. Mayo employees worked there for several years until work began on the new building.

Here are the final moments of its existence as seen from 5th St.

Earlier this year, another longtime building but the dust.  Here's a recap of the Benny's demo.

Is our building next????
