Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The winds may have died down, but the temperature is forecast to be cold enough that even a light breeze could produce dangerous wind chills in most area of Minnesota tonight and Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a new Wind Chill Advisory that includes the Rochester area. It will be in effect from 6 PM Friday through 9 AM Saturday in southeast Minnesota.

Forecasters say the overnight low should fall to between 15 and 20-below zero in the Rochester area. The wind chills are predicted to fall into the 20 to 30-degree below range until the air temperatures moderate a bit and finally climb back above zero.

The unofficial low temperature this morning at the Rochester Airport was 12-degrees below zero, but it’s possible the mercury could fall even lower before midnight tonight.
