UNDATED (AP) — The L.A. Dodgers ended the Chicago Cubs' four-game winning streak by edging the Cubs 3-2 in the second game of a weekend series between NL division leaders.

Julio Urias (yur-RY'-uhs) allowed one run over six innings to atone for getting hit hard the first time he faced the Cubs. On June 2 in Chicago, the rookie left-hander made his second career start and gave up six runs and eight hits in five innings while serving up three homers.

This time, he allowed six hits and tied a career high with eight strikeouts and two walks. He is 4-0 in six games since the All-Star break, and 5-2 overall.

Corey Seager set a Dodgers franchise record for a shortstop with his 23rd home run.

In other baseball:

— Boston remained one game back of Toronto in the AL East by routing Kansas City 8-3. Boston second baseman Dustin Pedroia (peh-DROY'-uh) got hits in 11 straight at-bats, then fell one short of the major league record when he grounded into a double play. Pedroia had gone 4 for 4 against the Kansas City Royals before his streak ended in the eighth inning at Fenway Park. His string stretched over three games. Pedroia upped his average to .320.

New York moved within 2 1/2 games of them for the second AL wild-card spot.

Rahal makes last-lap pass to win IndyCar race at Texas

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Graham Rahal made a last-lap pass and just held on to beat James Hinchcliffe in the closest finish ever for an IndyCar race at Texas.

The only time Rahal led the race — competed over a 2 1/2-month span — was when he sliced to the bottom of the track coming off of the backstretch on that final lap Saturday night. He won by eight-thousandths (0.008) of a second, crossing the line only inches and side-by-side with Hinchcliffe, with Tony Kanaan right behind them.

Hinchcliffe had led the Firestone 600 for 76 days. He was leading when the race was initially red-flagged June 12 because of rain after only 71 of 248 laps, and he was dominating after it resumed until three late restarts.

Rahal's fourth career win came at the high-banked, 1 1/2-mile oval where four years ago he appeared headed for victory before brushing the wall on the last lap and finishing second to Justin Wilson.

Quarterback refuses to stand during national anthem

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — San Francisco backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick (KAP'-ur-nihk) says he is refusing to stand for the national anthem before games because he believes the United States oppresses African Americans and other minorities. Kaepernick, who is biracial and was adopted and raised by white parents, says he is "not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color."

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy says that "players are encouraged but not required to stand during the playing of the national anthem."
