Albert Lea, MN (KROC-AM News) - Investigators have determined that arson was to blame for a house fire in Albert Lea early today.

Firefighters Responded Shortly After Midnight

A news release issued by the Albert Lea Fire Rescue Department says firefighters responded to a report of a house fire just before 12:20 a.m. in the 700 block of Alcove Street. When they arrived at the scene, firefighters observed flames on the north side of the home coming out of a kitchen window.

Home Had Previously Been Declared a Total Loss

According to the statement on the incident, the house had previously been deemed a total loss following a fire on April 25 and was declared uninhabitable until repairs were completed.

No injuries were reported.

Minnesota Arson Hotline Seeking Information

Albert Lea Fire Rescue noted that utilities at the property had been shut off following the previous fire and that weather was not a contributing factor.
