Authorities ID Remains Found Along Minnesota Lake
Isle, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in central Minnesota have identified the victim of a suspected homicide.
The case opened Tuesday afternoon when highway workers in Mille Lacs County reported finding a tote containing human remains. The remains were sent to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The medical examiner has identified the victim as 25-year-old Rodney Pendegayosh Jr. of Isle. Mille Lacs County Sheriff Kyle Burton said the medical examiner is set to release the full autopsy report sometime on Thursday.
Burton also said that formal charges in the case are expected to be filed on Thursday. Authorities identified 21-year-old Bradley Weyaus of Isle, MN as a person of interest in the case.
Burton announced Weyaus’s arrest Wednesday morning after investigators executed multiple search warrants at a mobile home near the body discovery site and at an apartment in Isle, which is on the southeastern end of the lake. Weyaus was arrested on suspicion of charges connected to active arrest warrants against him that are not related to Pendegayosh Jr’s death.
Burton said the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office will release more information regarding the murder investigation on Thursday.
