Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester area residents are invited to attend some local events to mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

One is scheduled for Friday in Rochester. It will begin with the sound of bagpipes.

Two members of the Rochester Caledonian Pipe Band will make their way from the downtown Mayo Clinic campus to the Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial, starting at 5:00 pm. This will serve as a reference to the scene at Ground Zero when bagpipers played as the final beam of the wreckage was removed.
