Silver Bay, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rescue teams in northeastern Minnesota pulled two bodies from Lake Superior over the weekend.
A news release issued by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to the report of two cliff divers who were struggling to swim after jumping into the lake. The emergency call came in shortly before 1:30 p.m. from Black Beach, which is about 56 miles up the north shore from Duluth.
Search and Rescue Crews from Lake County, St. Louis County and the U.S. Coast Guard responded. Crews pulled the body of the first male from the lake about five hours after the call.
Search and rescue teams recovered the body of a second male about 90 minutes after finding the first body. The identities of the males pulled from the water will be released pending notification of their families.
