Multiple Arrests in Fatal Minnesota Stabbing
Bemidji, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in northern Minnesota say one man is dead and several people are in custody as the result of a stabbing over the weekend.
A news release from the Bemidji Police Department says officers and members of the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of an assault in progress in an area near the Bemidji State University campus. The call for service came in around 3:30 Saturday morning.
Responding officers found a deceased male who appeared to have been stabbed multiple times, the news release says. Witnesses at the scene of the stabbing gave law enforcement a description of the alleged attackers and a residence they may be at.
A SWAT team then executed an arrest warrant at that residence and detained multiple people for questioning. Several of those people were then arrested as a result of the preliminary investigation.
The name of the victim, how many suspects taken into custody and their identities have not been released. Police are asking community members that know anything about the reported stabbing to come forward.
