Bomb Squad Deals With Suspicious Materials In Spring Valley

The Bloomington Bomb Squad responded to Spring Valley on Saturday to dispose of some suspicious materials that were discovered following a chase. The Fillmore County Sheriff's Department says the pursuit began Saturday morning after a deputy spotted the 30-year-old man, who was wanted on a felony arrest warrant.

He was eventually arrested at a family member's home, where authorities discovered the unknown chemicals inside an old bus parked on the property. Concerns about the potentially explosive nature of the materials prompted Fillmore County authorities to evacuate residents in the area until the bomb squad arrived and safely disposed of the items.
