Byron Man Sought by Olmsted Sheriff’s Office
Byron, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Byron man being sought by authorities for probation violations is suspected of stealing a vehicle and later leading a deputy on a chase.
Olmsted County Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns says an apprehension order was issued earlier in the month for Michael Price by the probation officer assigned to home because of convictions for drug, burglary and fleeing police offenses. Last week, the search for Price became more urgent when an ex-girlfriend reported that he could be at risk for suicide.
Behrns says deputies responded Saturday to a report of a vehicle abandoned in Marion Township and discovered it was registered to the Byron man's ex-girlfriend. Deputies were called back to the same neighborhood later in the day after a minivan was reported stolen from a driveway about a block away.
Yesterday, Price was spotted in Byron driving a car registered to the same ex-girlfriend and sped away when a deputy attempted to pull him over. Deputies then went to his girlfriend’s residence to see if he might show up. He did, but he also successfully fled on foot and remains at large.
