
Southeast Minnesota Manufacturer Announces Closure, Dozens of Employees Set to Lose Their Jobs
They make material handling equipment for multiple large companies including Ford, Amazon, Walmart, Toyota, Frito Lay and others.
Cannon Falls, MN (KROC-AM News)- A southeast Minnesota manufacturing facility is closing its doors, resulting in dozens of employees losing their jobs.

That’s according to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED).
The plant has been operating in Cannon Falls for more than 60 years, according to the company’s website.

Cannon Equipment to Permanently Close, Dozens of Employees Set to Lose Their Jobs
The DEED notification says Cannon Equipment informed them of plans to permanently close. Their facility is located at 324 Washington Street W. in Cannon Falls.
The plans for permanent closure means approximately 45 employees will lose their jobs. Cannon Equipment plans to start laying off its workers as early as December 31, the notification says.
It’s not known if the workers have union representation or bumping rights, according to DEED.

Cannon Equipment manufactures manual and powered carts. They make material handling equipment for multiple large companies including Ford, Amazon, Walmart, Toyota, Frito Lay and others.
In 2014, a division of the Berkshire Hathaway Company called Marmon Holdings acquired Cannon Equipment, according to the company’s website.
