MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A toddler has been reunited with his family after the car in which he was a passenger was stolen from a Minneapolis gas station.

Police say the father of the child ran inside the Colony gas station about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday and left the car running with the toddler in the back seat. When he returned, the car and toddler were gone.

KSTP-TV says the man's cellphone was in the car, so officers were able to track it and find the vehicle, which was abandoned behind a vacant house about 1½ miles from the gas station. The child was still in the back seat. The toddler was checked by first responders and returned to his father.

Police are still looking for a suspect.
